Tried just about everything ..unchecking enable box in Hibernation does not stop it. Could this work: run,cmd,ok,powercfg/hibernate/[off] or powercfg-h off, press enter? Powercfg commands are here: http://technet2.microsoft.com/WindowsServer/en/library/0d90be55-cc9d-423d-8e49-8a79a4d6bcd41033.mspx?mfr=true. I need help with this. HELP! One of you brilliant programmers knows how to do this...plse tell me.

Also, plse could someone tell me diff betwn Standby(2) which is very reduced power and save in memory and Hibernation which is Standby(4) in my Owner's Manual .
I am desperate to have Standby(1),,no memory and wakes with mouse or keys. Hibernation will not go away.
If I could locate the hiberfil.sys file, is it safe to delete it using delete (which is what is suppose to happen when you uncheck enable)as explained here: http://articles.techrepublic.com.com/5100-10877_11-5630184.html#.
I can't do anything..no defrag,virus scans,etc...always in hibernate after a few minutes idle

I entered never in power scheme settings. I tried all the "usual suspects". Help!

Go to the control panel and double click on "Power Options"

On the "power schemes" tab, the last box should read system hibernates: and then some choices. Choose "Never" and save.

See if that works.
