We're moving from our apartment this weekend, and I have no idea how we're going to get everything done. I can't stop thinking about how much there is to do, and feel completely overwhelmed. I hate moving. Does anyone have any words of advice or tips? I'm normally pretty calm, but I can't stop freaking out.

Moving is a very stressful event. Every time I've ever moved, I've felt as though I'd aged 20 years. So this is perfectly normal. Now that we've established that, let me share some of my tips with you.

Moving is not something that you wait until the last minute to do. It actually should have begun weeks ago. If you have acquired a lot of stuff during your stay at this apartment, then you should have gotten rid of a lot of junk you don't want to move, by having a yard sale or boxing up a bunch of discards for the Goodwill. Then you start packing the items you don't use every day -- and you won't miss for a while, and label the boxes so the movers will know which rooms to put them in. You have to contact your bank, the post office, the utility companies, creditors, etc., and give them your change of address and the date you'll be moving. Then pack a box of essentials you'll need right away when you move to your new place, such as dishes, bed
linens, cosmetics, soap, T.P., medications, clothing for a couple days, etc.

I realize these are things you should have done long before this weekend, so they may not be helpful for this move. But you may want to jot them down for the next time you move. I never do anything at the last minute -- that's a sure stressor. People laugh at me sometimes for getting ready way in advance, but it sure saves my nerves. Try it. You'll like it! Good luck, dear. Things do have a way of working out and falling into place. I hope you enjoy your new home.

I've moved several times, and preparation is the best way to beat stress.

- Get lots of boxes, and box as much as you possably can beforehand.
- Set aside several boxes of stuff you KNOW you'll need as soon as you get there. Toiletries, towels & sheets, etc. And always keep track of them. It's possable to go for days without your pots & pans, but try doing the same without a toothbrush.
- I find it easiest to work if I box everything up, and keep it in the room it came from, so all my bedroom boxes are in the bedroom, etc. That way you can just tell people "This load goes into the bedroom" and you don't need to play traffic director at the door.
- Moving credit helps (I helped you move last year, so naturally, you need to come help me move this weekend) but it's better if you can provide a case of beer, and maybe lunch if you have lots to move. (Last person I helped move had everyone over for supper and a midnight horse drawn sleigh ride)

in basic terms loosen up! The medical doctors do not quite opt to hearken to from you for the baby no longer transferring until eventually 28 weeks. that's because they are nevertheless quite small, and they have a large kind of room in there. toddlers are not on a agenda yet at 21 weeks, and their circulation is often very sporadic and unpredictable. Lay down on your left section and drink some ice chilly juice, yet when she would not flow, attempt now to not pressure too a lot. in case you do not have cramping, recognizing, established contractions, leaking fluid or rhythmic again soreness, there is no want to call the well-known practitioner at this factor.

Lily has very good advice and I can't help but add one thing, number your boxes and the rooms to which they go in. Share this information with any helpers. Just a little less confusing for you and your helpers. Hopefully everything you discover you need right away, will be at your finger tips.

Pack one room at a time. Throw out anything you haven't used in a year. Leave your vacuum cleaner till the last so you can give a last swoop through the house before you leave it. Put everything in boxes, don't leave stuff unpacked thinking you will just toss it in as you leave, you will end up with tons of last minute stuff and no place to put it.

Call a friend or two and have a little packing party with pizza. Post online (craigslist or freecycle) about impending giveaway for things that you want to throw away or those that don't fit.

what's the big deal??
if you already have everything packed then all you have to do is rent one of those big moving trucks..
you should be able to get everything moved in 1 day if you start really early.

then once you move your stuff.. take your time in your new place to get things out of the boxes etc..
