The Water Authority of Western Australia was also known as WAWA from 1985 until it was split and renamed in 1996. They used a similar corporate logo to Wawa Food Markets on a blue background, with the bird being a black swan.

I used to use a wawa (actually called "wah wah") mute when I played trombone. It was basically a plunger(new and unused, of course) with the handle removed. Sometimes we turned them inside out.

Other possibilities:

1.) A convienence store chain in Deleware

2.) A town in northern Ontario

3.) a collection of sofas by Richard Ward handmade in London

4.) Wyoming Amateur Wrestling Association

I think you're referring to a "wah-wah" pedal. It's an electronic device used with an electric guitar to create a distinctive sound effect. It was popular with a lot of the 60s & 70s artists. Someone already suggested Jimi Hendrix's "Voodoo Child". That song has some good wah-wah effects.
