Hi, I am so sorry. Have you tried talking to a Social Worker? Surely you've already been seen at a hospital to get this diagnosis, so I would start there to access a Social Worker. They have vast resources that may help you. You could also ask if there is Financial Aid (or a Financial Aid Department) there too. Inquire at your pharmacy too--perhaps they have special arrangements--but I don't know if you're low income or not. As someone already mentioned, you could check with multiple myeloma society. Best of luck to you.. My prayers are with you too.

ATS, I am sure that you can get help. One person suggested going to the UT training hospital in Houston, which is good advice. Another resource I would recommend is contacting the Multiple Myeloma Research Foundation at www.multiplemyeloma.org

I wish you all the best...my prayers are with you.

First of all I am very sorry about your health condition. I have health insurance and still pay out the wazoo. I read an article the other day about people choosing weather or not to take meds or to not eat. Most city hospitals have a certain amount given to them yearly to help people who are sick and don't have insurance. Maybe you should start there. I've seen in the past, some hospitals actually take care of the bill for a patient. I hope this helps.

I know that in Houston there are the university of Texas Medical Branch hospitals and clinics that go by income and even have different programs that will assist you. Also you may want to go to www.txhealthpool.org or www.texasonline.state.tx.us to see if they will help. There are different programs on this website. Go under I think "healthcare and family" or something like that. This will take you to a link that will tell you about the medical insurance that texas offers. Hopefully this will help you. God Bless you.

I also am sorry to hear about your diagnosis, there is public assistance in some cases...it might depend on what your income is...If you attend church or some organization, maybe you along with them can have fund raiser in your benefit...There have been people here where I live that have done this...Also there is surely a free clinic in Dallas...I do wish you the best...I wish I could give you more advice than I have...take care and God Bless!! =)
~Peace~
