Here are some strategies for overcoming internet addiction. It's a very sensible medical article. You must make the commitment, at least some of the time to get away from the computer and do other things. You must also set a strict time limit for yourself when you are on so that schoolwork etc. doesn't suffer.

Eh well push the botton on your pc that says "power off" and go do something else, setting a time for yourself that you may use the internet, and put an irritating allarm clock on not within reach when you reach the limit of time you wanted to be on internet.
But It's not that big a deal? At least you're on msn talking to your friends I guess, and not on a buying things via the internet streak? Don't worrie too much, and like I said, if you're not happy about it, set time for your self!

Me to, but I'm old, you're not. Get out of that chair and go to the mall, see movies, visit friend's,(in person),Take some classes. There's a world out there, go look at it. Go have some fun, when you're old and have to work for a living you'll wish you had. Don't miss the world in the real world. Good luck to you.

I thought the same thing about myself! I tend to go online for hours at time then I'm mad at myself that I didn't go other more productive things. So just out of curiosity I went online to this survey. It gave me comfort to know that I'm normal! I think they make good points in this survey to keep in mind or make you relax so you're not beating yourself up. http://www.netaddiction.com/resources/internet_addiction_test.htm

you're 16. you're too young to become "one of us"... the only thing you can do, and i know this will be difficult to hear...
pull the plug! pull out the broadband plug and get some fresh air...
can you do that for me? if not then there's always IAA meetings to attend.
