Because you must have renal failure. After a while on haemo dialysis three times a week in hospital they may offer you the alternative peritoneal dialysis which you do every night at home. You might find that easier to fit around your schedule. You do have to learn a lot about how to use the machine etc, but once you have it's great because you travel more and just take your machine and a few boxes of fluids with you (Baxter also deliver the fluids to anywhere in the world). We went to Spain last year, the airlines just check the machine in like baggage and put it under the plane. The Baxter delivery guy didn't speak a word of English - lucky I speak some Spanish!

Surely you should be asking the people at the centre about this.

Your kidneys have stopped working and you nead the dialysis to clean your blood and draw off excess water.

Be prepared for long sessions so take a book or something.

Good luck.

It is now the only option "by far" you have, but if you feel like, you'll never get used to it, try to go and see someone for counselling, yes I know the stigma that comes with counselling no-one wants to admit that they are not coping, but try, wish you everything of the best...

I'm sorry to hear that. I'm sure you know the physical reason why but you are asking the rhetorical "why me?" It's because life has no "favorites" - all that life has to bring both good and bad can happen at any time to any one of us.
