Best: TEXAS! Friendly folks, diverse scenery, tons of history and character, and that unmistaken Texas pride. Not everybody wants to live there, but why would anybody hate on the place?

Worst: Hmmmm...probably California. It's beautiful, but its people suck. Plus, that traffic in LA and the Bay Area makes me not want to live there at all.

I live in Kentucky, which is just mediocre.

TEXAS: I agree. I think most texans (living here now or at one time) feel that way. I love it! It's like our own little country, we understand and recongnize each other, it's weird. And the tight pants, cowboy boots & hats, aren't bad to look at!

I have lived in California, Arizona, New Mexico, Oregon, Wisconsin, Rhode Island and now in Ohio. I've been to Texas, Florida, Colorado, New York and in about 40 of the 50 states.
I love much about California and Ohio for scenic reasons. I hate California for the crime, traffic and cost of housing, but you can't beat the weather in San Diego! I love southeast Ohio for it's beauty and affordable real estate and hate it for it's lack of culture and ignorance. I really liked Oregon, beautiful & affordable but they don't welcome outsiders coming to share their space. Colorado is majestic but too cold for me, too much snow. Parts of Utah are awesome. I've been in Texas many times and have not seen the diverse scenery you mention (except around San Angelo) and personally I thought it was dirty & smelly (oil refineries everywhere) and that the people I met were mostly rude. I get excited about Manhattan in NY, very clean, safe and welcoming (unlike the old days, they've really turned it around) and I love the charm of Newport, R.I. I thought Kentucky was aesthetically nice. I guess opinions vary, you asked, we disagree, but that's okay. We live in America the Beautiful and have the freedom to roam and the freedom to disagree. Thanks.

The worst is the state of panic in which the republicans are keeping uneducated voters for the last 5 years.
