get lost (on purpose) on a school trip in a wooded area for four hours, with a friend who is openly gay, without people questioning your sexual orientation?

I had convinced everyone I had no interest in either gender before we ended up "lost"! (that is not true though... but I have told no one that!)

That happened back at the end of the previous school year, and unfortunately nothing more gossip worthy has happened here.

People have nothing better to do than cause trouble. They will do that the rest of your life. No matter what the problem people always want to make an assumption. It is not matter though. You can't change them. The less you let it bother you, and the more you ignore it, and shake it off, the less it will be fun for them, and they will stop. It is not any ones business but yours anyway, so try not to worry. It will pass. If you are Gay it is nothing to be ashamed of, and well accepted these days. If not, they will find out eventually. Just be who you are and be proud of it. Good Luck!

If that's the best gossip around, your school must be well boring. It happens everywhere, you know, even if your friend isn't gay. In Tech, one of my friends went into the back room with a teacher to get something, and they made fun of her for a week.

Why don't you try again; figure out what your question is, clearly state the relevant facts, and clearly word your question. A lot of people are guessing, and the rest of us don't know what your question is.

When you've figured out how to give the facts and questions clearly, post it so people can answer.

Are you saying that people are still gossiping about something that really did happen? (You say it was on purpose and imply you are gay, and your classmates don't believe you when you lie to them -- that's my understanding of what you've said.)

Well, sounds to me they've got your number. Perhaps they read non-verbal signs that lead them to dis-believe you. As long as you keep denying, they will keep talking about it, because they are in the know on something you won't admit.

Unless I've misunderstood; my first reading was that you were complaining that people weren't talking about it.

because if you disappear into the woods with a gay guy for 4 hours people are going to start assuming things

Unfortunately the more scandalous a story, the more people love to hear/spread it. The truth comes in a weak 4th place.

whatever you do, don't get a job in a factory...the gossips in there, oh my word...

if you had gone into the woods with a girl, they would have gossipped too...some people are pathetic that way.

if they are gossiping about you, they are leaving some other poor soul alone. and gossips arlways have the biggest secrets of their own to hide...

If you try to convince everyone so hard, they'll really think you're lying. But then again, you R lying.
You know how people are. Let them talk. Who cares?

Everyone needs someone to talk about. You gave em ammunition. Do you really care what they think?

It's just gossip, the truth doesn't need to be defended if it's the truth. If people believe stupid rumours it's their own fault.
