Sometimes, given the amount and nature of celebrity "news" we are exposed to, I find it difficult to watch films or TV shows with particular celebrities without seeing them as the celebrity rather than the character they supposed to be playing. I'm not talking about information that people seek out about celebrities, but the stuff that is forced on us in check-out line magazines, otherwise serious news shows and national newspapers, regardless of factuality.

You don't have to pay attention to celebrity news.

However, I don't think anyone escaped the Tom Cruise commotion. Even so, I was able to watch War of the Worlds without thinking about his personal life. I think he did a good job playing his character, and the movie had enough going on to hold my full attention.

On the other hand, I can't see Schwarzenegger movies the same way since he got elected.

There was just a conversation on the morning radio show that I listed to about this. It doesn't effect me but all the people that shared input this morning said that it effected them.
They were talking about the Who Killed Superman movie and how it was hard to watch Ben Affleck star in the movie because all they kept thinking was Benifer.

Well, it's like when I watch a movie with Robert Downey Jr, I think he's such a great actor but in the back of my mind I keep thinking:

Crackhead Crackhead.
