Backpack vs Messenger bag?

Want to get a backpack but work in a white collar environment and might be viewed as a high school or college student. Backpack is easier to carry around and less straining on the back. Messenger looks more business friendly but less convienent. Your takes. Thanks.

I've always preferred the messenger bag. I just like the way it looks.

Funny, I had the same conversation with somebody not too long ago. Personally I just went for the backpack. I still wear a shirt and tie and once my bag is under my desk no one sees it.
