Ironically my car is also a 2000 civic coupe but Ex version. I have the AEM V2 on my car and going from short ram intake to straight Cold air from the V2 is a major difference not only in sound but in performance. The Sound is Aggressive, Performance is Outstanding especially combined with a DC Sports 4-2-1 header. You wont be disappointed. Hope this helps you.

I haven't used the AEM V2 but I've heard very good things about them. If you add it alone, you might get a couple extra horses. If you combine that with a performance exhaust, you will benefit more. If your car has a turbo, a cold air intake generally won't make that much of a difference - but it will still benefit from the less restrictive filter.
If you are looking for other options, Injen makes a good product as well.

I have a AEM V2 cold air intake for my 04 civic, and it goes great with an Greddy EVO exhaust. I hear Injen makes a good intake as well.

V2s are a bit loud and more expensive than a cold air intake, but i've seen dyno's where the V2s make a bit more power than a CAI. I recommend Injen intakes, AEM makes good intakes, but i've seen better results with injen at the shop i work at.

Well my boyfriend has that exhaust on a RSX Type S, it is so awesome it definitely did had power, especially when the iVtec kicks in it sounds insane! The only thing is, is that it is kinda expensive and the filter didn't really fit too well in there, and that it makes a noise when you shut off the car( i dont know if its just the type s that does it or it just does that in general) But you just really need to becareful of driving through puddles and stuff, because i'ts a cold air, that's what i heard anyway. hope i helped!

the short ram intakes do not work all they do is suck in hot air and cicrculate it through your engine = no hp difference the v2 intake is waste of money dont get it the cold air intake is the only one that works, since its sucking in cold air from the bottom it acutally does work
