He was really being a jerk, and i just left. He didn't have to drive or anything, but i'm still afraid something bad happened (he beat someone up, got arrested, etc.) I mean, i know it's not really my responsibility... is there something i could've done since he was to out of it to take care of himself?

In my experience, you can help someone who's drunk if they're in the sick, room spinning, gonna hurl phase, but you can NOT help someone who's in the "jerk" phase. There was nothing you could do, and you did the right thing by leaving because it can turn really ugly really fast at that point.

If you love him you shouldn't have left him. I'm sure you know that the reason he was being a jerk is because the alcohol was talking. I'm sure he's not normally a jerk to you---so why would you leave him behind for one time? You are right, something bad could have happened to him.

It's in the past now though, so you can't say "what if" anymore...if I were you I would just apologize, and promise myself that I wouldn't do that again, while at the same time telling my boyfriend what a jerk he was being and coming to some sort of compromise/drinking limit so that the same situation doesn't repeat itself.

you can't control someone who is drunk...maybe he learned his lesson! Or hopefully you did....

move on, find someone who can control himself and will treat you like the person you are...good luck!
