They will need the hype to compete with the NFL since ABC lost them to NBC ;-) Which I am sure played into their decision to put it against the NFL Sunday and Monday nights. Take a few viewers away and say "Look, ABC was better for the NFL".
But, after all the hooting and hollering I would not be surprised if this is fantastically boring and mundane.

They will be running commercials BEFORE and AFTER the program. If you were ABC wouldn't you want to attract viewers? What's the point if nobody watches?

It cost millions to make and they're giving up a few hundred thousand in advertising over two nights.
Disney doesn't do any to lose money. They have to be getting something out of it.

controversy is a 2 edged sword. I've seen controversial shows become hits and I've seen others bomb. But your right, right now everyone is paying attention to what is happening, so it should be interesting.
