She's been in the entertainment business since she was 19. Starting out in the radio business and working her way up to the queen of the tube.

it's called hard work.

She's been some sort of a celebrity for about 30 years, she's not really "in touch" with the common folk of America, it just looks like it. She does more work with other countries though.

no, only the government can do that

she's just a talk show host, theres nothing special about her

put any other woman from the same background in the same situation and the same thing will happen

she was just at the right place at the right time!!

and she wanted it bad enough - she is not a lazy a.s.s

That's the beautiful thing about the United States. You can come from nothing and make yourself into something. That's not the case in most countries. She worked hard to get where she is today.

I think in addition to hard work, intelligence and ambition she also has been very honest and open about her faults in life. Her battle with weight and being abused as a child endear her to the public.
She has been very generous with her money by setting up schools for children, creating reading programs, hospitals, shelters for abused women.

By hangers-on telling her how great and wonderful they think she is.Got nothing against Oprah,just think it's mass hysteria..Her shows used to be ok,but now it seems like she does'nt even try.JERRY ! JERRY !

The woman is intelligent and can read and write fluently! She started writing and reading at about 9 yrs old in her church and was inspired ever since!
