There's a Captain America movie in pre-production - Jared Hess (Nacho Libre, Napoleon Dynomite) is down to direct. See the link below.

Of Course they will....

It's only a matter of time and money. I'm sure that someone is working on a script somewhere for Captain America.

America has never missed an opportunity to flaunt it's patriotic theme on any occasion. They are probably waiting for things to cool down a bit since the war isn't going so well anymore and people don't like it anymore. They are also probably trying to re-vamp the story so that it is no longer the nazi's to fear, but some sort of terrorist. Captain catches Osama or some crap like that. I'm sure the effects will be fantastic. They might even get a big name star to ruin the character. Like Nick Cage is going to ruin ghost rider.

America has never missed a chance to wave their flag on film. There is no way they will miss the chance to wave the Captain America costume on film either. Especially now that super hero movies have had such big success.

They just have to wait till people hate them a little less.

Maybe: with these new, succeeding comic-book movies (like Spiderman, Daredevil, Superman Returns, Batman Begins, etc), they might attempt to do Captain America. But it involves Nazis and all that 40's stuff that might be harder to portray, or modernize, as well as they did in Spiderman and Superman. I hope that they portray it, if they are doing the movie anytime soon, in the past because Captain America is very much tied to that, through WWII fighting and Red Skull (his best enemy ever!)

No. Captain America was made to kind of be a metaphor for the almighty United States of America. Sometime near or after WW2, he was introduced to kind of lift morale, and to show that U.S.A. is a superpower and will crush any and all of those that we think are bad guys. If they made a movie, it would cause an outrage from some of us who don't like what our country's top leaders are doing.

Of course. Captain America is the American hero. Since they started the Avengers cartoon kids are loving him! He is the "Symbol of America" they will probable have the movie do with terrorism.

It looks like one is in the works, according to imdb.com

I hope it'll be a vast improvement over that straight-to-video hatchet job released about 15 years ago. Boy, did that one suck!

Why all the actors they got to do the Marvel Comics adaptations - except for the Xmen,... were gay.

I hope not. The latest 'superhero' movies have been pretty much a lost cause...no imagination and all CGI.
