What should I do? I went to the doctor for a check up, and he noticed that my chart said I had had two ruptured cysts in the last year, and he asked if before this year have I had trouble with cysts or anything. I told him that yes I have had trouble with cysts for about the past 15 years. Almost since I started having my menstrual cycle. He arranged some different tests. He said he highly recommends that I get a hysterectomy, but I’m kinda scared what should I do?

There are other treatments to try before doing something so traumatic such as cyst drainage or sometimes even hormones, get a second opinion.

You don't say your age, if you've had children... I hope you are seeing a gynecologist, not only a family doctor. If so, good. If not, get referred to one, or a few - have you had all kinds of tests like ultrasound? I think you need much more information.

Get a second opinion first before you do anything with a doctor. A hystorectomy is a big deal and before you go to and do it you should see another doctor about it.

Always get a second opinion, especially if he is saying for you to have surgery.
