I don't like to flatter myslef. I feel uncomfotable when I'm complimented. I am glad people think I'm pretty or smart or funny, but when I say thank you, I feel like i'm agreeing with them therefore I'm flattering myslef therefore I'm stuck up and self centered. ??????????

No your being courteous when someone compliments you the respectful thing to do is say thank you.

Do you know how many people suffer from self esteem issues not thinking their pretty enough or smart enough or whatever but you have people telling you all those things so you shouldn't have any problems with saying thank you as showing your appreciation.

You don't seem stuck up or self centered because this bothered you enough to seek advice if you were both or one of those things, it wouldn't matter to you and furthermore, you might not even say thank you because you already know your pretty, smart, and funny.

You are not stuck up and self centered for accepting a compliment. It seems worse when someone compliments you and you disagree with them (it's actually kind of rude). I don't see why you are worried...it's okay to have a little self esteem and to be confident in yourself...I think you should worry when people stop complimenting you.
