My Sunday school teacher when I was a little girl and friend of our famliy in Kentucky[i live in Illinois now] was killed in a farming accident. She was sitting on a fender of her husbands Bush Hog and the fender broke and she fell in it. My question is what exactly is a Bush Hog? my husband says it's like a huge type of lawn mower, but I'm picturing a type of tractor. Please only serious answers!!!!!!!!I can't belive this happened to her. Her and her husband would have celebrated their 33rd wedding anniversary this weekend.

it a machine that is attached to the tractor and it cut really high grass,weeds,brush,it's just like a lawn mower but it's as wide as the tractor and about as long,and has many blades,and as long as the tractor is on, the blades or turning.....that would be a horrible way to die,I'm very sorry for her family,and your loss.

It is like a huge lawn mower it has a wider blade span they use it for cutting down really tall grassy areas or just large yards it just make mowing large areas and tall grassy area easier! I am sorry for your loss! My prayers are with you and your Sunday School Teachers Family! God Bless!

well if i understand the machine right, a bushhog is similat to a tractor. it has a long sicle blade that goes back and forth like a giant barber's hair slipper. it's mostly used by farmers to clear brush and cut hay ect.
But for what it's worth, you just made me think that what happened to me yesterday and today is not as bad as it could be.

I think you mean "Brush Hog"...it is a piece of farm equipment used for cutting fields down...yes, like a "big lawn mower."
