Tuxedo-type Formal Event (very swanky)
My black dress ends just below the knee
I'm on the tall side, 5'8" (my date is 1" shorter)
I'll be standing for a while, say 1-3 hours possible

Well you have wear heels since it's a formal event. Try some black wedges. They are a little easier to walk in.

How about some black or silver heels with a nice design on the front. Like diamonds.....Not too high though. Have fun.

Strappy black shoe with a 1" heel. They'll be sexy and show off your legs but not intimidate your date

A kitten heel would be a very good choice - they're very classy compared to other heel shapes, and are relatively low so you won't be towering over your date and will be more comfortable than really high heels.

Wear black heals with dimonties on them, not too high if ur worried about the height difference, or your date could wear those elevator shoes to make him look taller....

Med high heel sandals. Very thin straps. Please don't forget to wear stockings or pantyhose. From most mens point of view they are just as important. They "finish" the outfit.

hot red heels but make sure they're comfy so it can pop out and be more stylish instead of regular black.
