Will be converting my garage, ( NOT TAKING DOWN THE GARAGE DOOR) Thinking of putting up a temporary wall there instead, How do I seal everything off, what Can I use so bugs and creepy crawlers cant squeeze in....we live by a field....and what do I do about ac, tear a hole in the wall to put in a portable ac unit?

has anyoe done this and learned the hard way..ha ha

You can install a portable AC unit without making a hole now; check out Sony's AC units.

Use caulk around any windows, vents, openings to seal them.

Don't put up a temporary wall in front of the door; do it in urban industrial decor and make it work for you.

Haven't done that specifically, but we've gutted and redone 3 bathrooms and the kitchen, and finished our basement.

Get an electric pest control so the mice won't come in.If you have air conditioning in the house, get someone to run a connection out to the garage. Use duck tape to seal leaks. It's supposed to keep anything out according to our government. I wouldn't go knocking holes in the wall unless it's not connected to the house.

Half assed work. Take out the door and rails , install a window, side the house to match. Raise the floor level with the house. The concrete floor is at an angle.

Something worth doing is worth doing right.

The very first thing to do is get a building permit. You can't just make it a room. Here's the criteria (at least in California):
