the bottom line in this argument lies with the family...if they feel it is right to see the death of steve doing what he loved doing then that would be the case....only they will decide and i hope if they do they charge an arm and a leg for the benefit of the causes steve espoused........i will never forget the image of steve irwin talking to the camera while sharks were in a feeding frenzy all around him while he stood in the water...the guy was a crazy kook but he was fascinating, funny and very entertaining...i kind of felt one day his luck would run out the way he took risks dealing with wildlife but i would never have guessed it would take a stingray to be the culprit....my condolences to his friends and family....he was one of a kind and his legacy will continue as his shows run on animal planet

The police and the med examiner are the only ones with a copy, so we are told. They said that the video wont be released, and the only ones that will ever see it will be the people that have already seen it.
I dont want to see it, but I dont think that Steve would want it hidden away. he was too much of a show-man. He would probably want it made into a special of all his closest calls, along with the annoying parrot bites, culminating with the stingray incident.
Steve would have no anger for the sting ray, in fact he would probably cuss himself for breaking its spine off and taking away its defense. He would also blame himself for being in that position and being so close to get himself stuck.
Steve Irwin was a great man, as asset to wildlife, the world and mankind. He was also a husband and father, and I couldn't imagine a cooler dad. His response to criticism for holding baby Bob while feeding a croc, "next time I'll make sure that there are no cameras."

I, personally, agree with the poster above me. I mean, the guy said he wanted his own camera men to film him even if he was being mauled by a crocodile... I mean... We people who may not have a passion for wild-life may not realize the emotions and since of pride Steve may have gotten from his job. Some people think this man was crazy and I would say very unique for crying over a croc? So be it! He is the one who felt his passion for what he did... and I'm sure he would have wanted us to see his death. He found his true passionate self in nature... and he'd probably want to end himself that way too. So how can we say that he wouldn't want it to be shown, when there is clearly a quote from Steve saying that if he had to go down... he'd want it all on tape. That's just the type of guy he was, I guess?

I know the facts.
The footage is in the hands of the police, being colabertad with the coroners report.
The footage is being destroyed, according to a press release by Joe Stainton, Steves manager..
His family declined a state funeral, Instead wanting something quiet.. So why the fuk do you YOU think that the video is going to be broadcast.. For one, You can't broadcast his death on ANY television chanel,
TWO. How do you get it when its destroyed
THREE. Its just distasteful.

I personally did not know him, but although some of you say that it is sick, I think that it would be nice to see how it happened. Not because I am going to laugh, but because I have respect for him and I would like to pay respect to such a great man by watching his death. You may think that it is sick, but, how many of you went to see the movie "The World Trade Center" or "United 93" in movie theaters. And how many people sat there in that movie theater and watched it with you. You watched all those people die, and you respected them. What is the difference?

sure, i'd. even though it became an really unhappy project, i imagine they ought to nevertheless launch the action picture he became wotking on. they ought to educate each and each and every of the photographs as a lot because the instantaneous before his lack of existence. Then pan away to a sea of blood (or in basic terms bypass black) and stick a memorial up on the screan for him. it may sound ill, yet its truth. human beings would bypass see it and it would make his family individuals a large kind of money. i'd bypass. We watch human beings in demise or useless each and each and every of the time, in genuine existence or on television. Its a truth of existence. Its unhappy, yet all his (Irwin's) existence, his purpose became to coach human beings about the genuine information of untamed animals. this can be his very last existence lesson for the international. He ought to educate the real beaty and threat of untamed creatures.
