The democrats are so out of touch with the people that if they don't change their tune they will soon make themslves obsolete.

Whether it should be or not, it seems to be heading in that direction. I certainly agree that many of the Democrats' supporters in recent years seem to have nothing more than hateful epithets and rhetoric to offer in defense of their positions. This trend is especially noticeable here on Yahoo Answers.

I would love that, but it's not going to happen any time in the near future. The only way for the Libertarian party to start having much of a say in how the country is run would be for people to start voting for them, and the most likely pool of voters to switch to the Libertarian party are moderate Republicans.

I would love it if Libertarian candidates were more prominent in the system. They are usually right on the money and sadly not listened to.
