Hmm, I always have voted. What is your target audience? All people? New voters? Older people? People who have stopped voting? People who didn't vote last time?
I'll go with everyone...
I would cite the close elections in recent past and show how every vote counts.
I think bashing either party would NOT be the way to go since you would want voters from both parties to turn out.
Perhaps comment on how this is their future they will be voting for. This is a chance to shape the path of our country. Don't let someone else choose your future for you.
If you had a particular audience, you could go other directions.

I offer a quotation from Robert Heinlein:
"If you are fortunate enough to live in a society that allows you to vote, by all means do so. There may be nothing you want to vote FOR, but there will almost certainly be something you want to vote AGAINST!"
1+1+1+1+1+...="My gang is bigger than your gang, so you must do what we say!"
All of the above is a cynical way of stating that if you have the right to vote, and do not vote, then you cede the only power you have to others. Your gang may NOT be the biggest this time, but at least you haven't lost by default.

Tell them to go out and research the Internet and television for information on the terrorist who wish to dis troy this Country.
They can look at Germany's past, Japan's and see how much these people realize they are so lucky to be able to vote, and they do in large numbers to support their freedom.
They need to look at what life in Iraq, Iran, Afghanistan, and other middle Easter Countries are like without freedom and make a decision based on that.
Imagine living in the old Soviet Union where the Soldiers were digging in the snow for frozen turnips to stay alive. or the Cubans under 60 years of a cruel, miserable dictatorship. So bad they even try swimming to this country.
With our voting rights just try to imagine the world as it would be 1 one big dictator

When you stop and think about it, no matter who you vote for, the poor, the working poor, and the middle class are ALWAYS going to get SCREWED! All you have to do is look at the track records of both the Democrats and Republicans and look at the ever widening gap between the "haves" and "have nots". All in all though, you should vote for the candidate who is going to screw you over the LEAST!

the fact that people don't vote makes me really sad to be american. there are people in other countries who die for the right to vote- we are given to opportunity to vote and less than 1/2 of americans do! I think the only way to get people to vote is to tell them they can't... they'll go running for the polls!

promising me that my vote will count, I live in Florida and my vote was never counted in the Bush election his first term. Get better candidates who can set good examples by not mudslinging; have people who work in polls ACTUALLY know what they are doing
