The only good thing about being a zealot is that you are so much convinced & confident about what you are saying that you can change others mind on it & nothing make s you change from what you believe . But this does not mean that they are right too .Again to the same point , the same reaction for a particular situation would be different by different people , more so because each one of them feel that they are right ..so , it is not that they are more right than anyone else but it is just that they are right in their own little world

Hi Vlad!
I am a firm believer in God, Jesus, the whole "died on the cross for our sins" thing...so I have conviction. However, I suck as a Christian. I am a horrible, horrible Christian... (I smoke, drink, curse, eat too much, love sex, etc.) so I am not a zealot when it comes to my faith.
So no, I do not believe you have to be a zealot to have conviction.
Am I more "right" than "anyone else"... probably, maybe, not at all... who knows.... it depends on who "anyone else" is... Or is this question only for the zealots?
;)
Love your avatar by the way...
Best Wishes... T.

Do you know what you stated? This is the definiton of zealot. Are you antisemetic?
Zealot
–noun 1. a person who shows zeal.
2. an excessively zealous person; fanatic.
3. (initial capital letter) a member of a radical, warlike, ardently patriotic group of Jews in Judea, particularly prominent from a.d. 69 to 81, advocating the violent overthrow of Roman rule and vigorously resisting the efforts of the Romans and their supporters to heathenize the Jews.

If what there teaching is not the truth what difference would it make? The Muslim terrorist's are sincere. They truly believe they gain a place in heaven by killing people.
Sincerity alone is not enough. Matthew 7:21 Not everyone saying to me Lord, Lord will enter into the kingdom of God.
They were active worshipers yet he said he didn't hear them or know them. Has to be with accurate knowledge

Conviction - in many cases yes.
Right - who decides on what is right or wrong. In their eyes they are right, but zealot's tend to be in the minority and the majority may often think they are wrong.

The more conviction you have then the more right you are?... hmmmm - yeh I think self-perception is the what defines us!

I think it's nice to be sure of yourself. I think it's nice when, after thinking things over, you are able to firmly reach a conclusion. (Being a libra, I highly prize the ability to make decisions!)
However, I think only a fool arrives at a conclusion and sticks to it forever and ever amen.
