It was not only about a love story where the guy ended up dying in the end, but the boat sank. Why would they build a second Titanic?? Or what the heck would they do in a sequel to a movie with a depressing ending like that??

I know you were joking, as well as the other people here, but James Cameron made "Ghosts of the Abyss" a couple of years ago. Bill Paxton came back and it was more of a documentary, but they used the characters from the movie. So, essentially, there really is a Titanic 2.

Titanic was based on a true story, unless someone builds a new Titanic and it sinks again, then it will probably take another few year to make a movie about it, since they are already making all true stories into movies

Why would they? The ship sank, Jack is dead, The Heart of the Ocean necklace will never be found and Rose did pass away at the end of the movie. What is there to tell?

Never. That movie was an istant classic and i think anyone who tries to make a sequel is absolutely insane. Just leave the movie alone.
