i have a wireless adsl router. what else do i need?

If you already have cable or dsl internet, you could already very well be equipped to share your internet connection. With most newer installations of your high speed internet, the company may have installed a modem/router combination box. Look at the back of the modem they installed and see if it has more spots to plug in ethernet cables.

They will look like regular telephone jacks except a little bigger.

If it has those already, all you would need to do is buy an ethernet cable (available at all major retail stores like wal-mart) plug it in to the modem/router then plug the other end into the second computer.

The second computer will need to have a network card or built in ethernet port. All new computer come with this. If your computer is older, it may not have it and you will need to install a network card. (it's relatively simple.)

Buying a router would be your easiest solution. Get a router and some Ethernet cable to connect the computers to the router with.

if you are using dial up.
use microsofts ICS internet connection sharing)
connect the 2 computers via your lan cabling with a crossover cable.
If you are using a cable or dsl modem, then you can connect bother computers to a router and connect the router to the cable modem.

you need a router. The router goes between your PCs and your cable/dsl modem.
