Once I thought I had an eye infection, so I went to the doctor. Turns out I had this little shard of metal stuck in my eye for about a week. No idea how it got there. After attempting to remove it with various instruments, the doctor informs me that they will now be sticking a needle (!!!) in my eye to remove the foreign object. I just about freaked. When he goes in again to remove it, he notices that it (the piece of metal) was gone. Apparently, he knocked it loosed with one of the other instruments.

A nail polish remover solvent! LOL OUCH! I was trying to peel off the seal on the bottle so instead I poked a hole thru the seal using a ballpen and some liquid came squirting straight to my eye! LOL

Two instances that you just made me think of:
First one - My older brother chucked a (tightly packed) ICEBALL(!) off of the second story back porch down to me on the lawn, two stories below. Hit me in the eye. It hurt like hell. I remember him saying "Please don't tell mom ..."
Second story - Coffee bean stuck waaaaay up my nose as a child. I loved the smell of coffee beans and when my mom came back from the store with a pound of freshly roasted coffee beans she would sometimes let my stick my face in the bag and take a big whiff of the yummies. One day I sniffed too hard. I'll never forget the doctor and those loooooong tweezers shoved up my right nostril.

A knife, I was accidental stabbed in the eye with a double sided razor sharp dagger when I was 8. I had pretty serious damage to my eye but luckily did not lose my vision in that eye.

A contact that ripped in half. One piece came right out. The other took quite awhile to get out.

A male friend of mine was playing mummy peg with his brother, when he was twelve years old and he got stuck in the right eye with a knife and was immediately blind in his right eye.
