Hurrican of 1937 actuly. Particuarly hit St. J and northeast kingdom pretty bad. If you get the book, I think its called like History of Saint Johnsbury or something by Claire Daine Johnson, it shows some of the pictured from it.

The Hurricane of 1938 flooded most of New England. The winds may not have been that high in Vermont, but the Connecticut River Valley was devastated.

there are records kept of the paths taken by all historic hurricanes and tornadoes!!!1935-37-38-39-were particularly bad on the east coast!!!!
