I have a tendency to forgive and forget too easily. Sometimes when people have done things that have hurt me alot I will try to forget what they have done and therefore I set myself up to be hurt again and again. Because I enjoy writing, I am contemplating devoting a journal that will disclose these painful experiences and hopefully help me to distance myself from these negative influences......
I want to know if this is pyschologically healthy, or will I be dwelling on the past too much.

I feel it would be healthy. to forgive is a wonderful thing. You should write things down if that is what makes you feel better. But what i get from what you told us is you have people who use you in your life and that hurts you. If someone does something to hurt you and then is sorry you should forgive them. but if they keep doing things to hurt you you should think about letting that person go. they use you for there needs and then when you need them they let you down and hurt you.
Writing them down will help you see the differences in the two. One time hurt forgive and let go. two or more let the person go. Good luck .

For me, journalling has been extremely helpful and healthy. It helps me process through difficult, hurtful and even positive experiences in my life. I don't know that keeping a record of your hurts is the best reason for keeping a journal, though. Forgiving is extremely healthy, whereas holding a grudge is more detrimental to you than it ever would be to the other person. Overall, I'd say, go for it. I think it will help you identify patterns in your life and give you a good outlet for your feelings.

Keep a journal.
Putting your thoughts into tangible sentences helps you to process them. You may never go back and read your former entries, but that's not the real reason to journal. You do so to get in touch with your own feelings, hear your own "voice" and process through to another day.

I think it has to be a balance, if you dwell on it, then it can eat you up. It sounds to me that as long as you do not make yourself a doormat, your doing good. But I see no problem if someone wants to keep a journal.

Yes.

You need to express and release any stress, tension or anger.

A good way is to write it down and burn it. That way you can acknowledge it by writting it down and burn it to put it into history and have it be gone forever.

Good Luck

I think that, if you take the proper approach to this, you could probably have a best seller on your hands..
and, gosh, wouldn't THAT be a positive experience?
