It is hard to accept any tragic event that happens.

I am sure there are all kinds of different people who suffered Katrina and now feel differently. Some are probably still bitter or feeling victimized. Some are probably over it.
The biggest part is what help have the received. Some probably got almost everything back to normal within a short period of time. While others are still fighting to get help.

They didn't want to...they had to.

When no one waved the magic wand, free of charge, to rebuild the homes of the "victims" who refused to evacuate, they were forced to accept the consequences...

No. Hard thing to deal with, hard to accept, especially if you have lost loved ones. They are probably in a trance still, I would be.
