That's like trying to convert rectangles into cubes, they are two different measurements.
If you want to know how many cubic feet are in a area with the known square footage then simply multiply the square feet by the height.
If you are trying to turn square feet into cubic feet you have a real problem, and will have an easier time trying to convert apples into oranges. You can't stack square footage to make cubic footage. That's like trying to stack simple lines to make a cube.
Square footage is just the multiplication of two parts of the cubic footage. Without the third variable, height, you don't have anything.

You cannot. Square Feet is 2D and Cubic Feet is 3D.
The number in Cubic Feet for a cuboid 1 Feet High will be the same as that in Square Feet for a rectangle with the same length and depth as the base of the cuboid, if that is any help.

one can't convert the area to volume without multiplying with the other dimension. sq ft is a unit of area n cubic feet is a unit of volume. also if i hav a two dimensional object or figure I can't calculate its volume.(think of a circle). the area gives you the space n volume gives the capacity of the object.

Multiply by height. For instance, if your living room is 20x20, it takes 400 square feet of floor tile or carpet or whatever. If you have 8-foot ceilings, the room is 8x400 or 3200 cu. ft. If you have 10-foot ceilings, 10x400 or 4000 cubic feet.

You can't "convert" these quantities, since they measure different things. Sq. ft. is surface area, cu.ft is volume. That said, if you have square footage, multiply it by the height to get cubic feet.

You can't! Squared is a function of x times y. Cubed is a function of x times y times z. If your shape is two dimensional you're stuck with squared. If your shape is three dimensional then you can have cubed.

Tell the Sq.ft to pop into the "Religion" category here on Yahoo Answers.
Everyone there thinks they are experts on conversions.

You're measuring 2 different quantities... ie length vs volume.
sqft is x * y (length x width) whiel cuft is x * y * z (length x width x height)
You cannot simply 'convert'.

You don't. Square feet is two dimensional, and cubic feet is three dimensional.
