Billie Holiday-I Can't Pretend, and most of her 1930's stuff.
Louis Armstrong-Stardust, although Illinois Jaquet's version is my favorite.
Nina Simone-Four Women.
Ella Fitzgerald-Any of the songs on her Live at Newport album with Roy Eldridge on trumpet.
Those are my answers for now, of course my tastes are subject to change without notice.

Here are some of my choices:
'Chet Baker Sings', Chris Connor, Helen Merrill, Jackie and Roy with the Charlie Ventura Orchestra, anything early by Sarah,
Bessie Smith, early June Christy (especially with Kenton). Try Ella with the Ink Spots on 'Cow Cow Boogie'.

I LOVE Jazz..but really favor the instrumental Jazz. I do LOVE Michael Franks though. He has a great jazz voice.
For woman and oldie but still great is Etta James.
More contemporary - Diana Krall or Renee Olstead.
