The options have been considered, from Bruce Willis (as he covered as host several times and has always added comic value to his appearances) and Jon Stewart from the Daily Show, but if not those two, who else would you like to see hosting the big CBS show?

I understand he isn't to everyone's taste, cwbondfan, and I agree, you either love him or hate him. Bruce Willis would be worth watching for sure. Thanks for the contrasting view ;)

Craig Ferguson (spelling?). He's the one whose show is right after Letterman's. I don't think he plans out his shows except for the guests. His monologues are sometimes long as hell but they are funny as hell too and they're right off the top of his head. He's not reading off the prompter or whatever.

When I started watching Conan O' Brien, I had no idea who he was, but I got addicted to his show because no one was like him and his comedy. Same goes for Craig Ferguson. Very original and authentic.

I would like to see Letterman go now. He is a terrible presenter and a most unwatchable TV host I wish someone could tell me who can watch him without switching off. Is there anyone else who feels this way about him. Trust me it is not the inane stuff he is given to say, it's him!!. From what we see of his shows which are repeated in the UK he is awful and unwatchable. However in place of him anyone!! my vote, Garry Shandling who played obviously Larry Sanders. Having seen the other votes cast I agree Bruce Willis would bring a higher profile and make the show a darn site more watchable.

Jay Leno - Apparently NBC is forcing him to retire in 2009 so Conan can take over (yay!). That would create a very interesting competitive situation. Of course, I am kidding - but if I had to seriously pick how about Mark McGrath?

letterman hasnt been funny for a while. john stewart would be a good replacement, if fact just move the daily show into the time slot. it would boost their ratings even more.

I think I'd make a good replacement, but Chris Rock or Martin Lawrence would make a great one.
