The photo albums that are PVC free, means the plastic that cover the photo's has no PVC in it and has nothing to do with the paper under it. The problem with plastic that has PVC in it, is it breaks down over a period of time and turns into a green slime. It can ruin a photo, as well as other things, like coins. Top quality photo albums, not the wal-mart kind, usually has acid free paper that the photo's sit on. Get the right paper for scrap booking it is not that expensive.
