doctors will always tell you to gargle with warm water and salt. put 1 to 2 tablespoons of salt in a cup of water and gargle until you are fininsh. this is for the sore throat. you can suck on throat lozenges too and take tylenol or what i take is alka seltzer plus for colds. i believe this is for sore throats and sniffles. you do know that being in warm weather or in heat can help get rid of your cold. you just have to gargle, take medicine, suck on throat lozenges, move around and as i do stuff tissues in my nose (i do this to sleep better, to get rid of congestion and nasal drip, you have to do what you have to do lol) to get better. dont stuff the tissues in public. you should feel better from 3 to 4 days. i had just gotten over your experience last week.

This may sound a bit strange, but my chiropractor told me of certain home remedies for things like this. Gargling with apple cider vinegar changes the pH in your throat so the bacteria cannot grow. If you do that about three times a day, you should feel better. Try Echinacea as well - it's from a flower and it boosts the immune system. Taking nyqil and the like usually leaves people with a foggy head, so these methods are what I prefer. They also make apple cider vinegar in tablet form. (natural food and vitamin sections in grocery stores, or Wal mart)

Do you have allergies? Cause that's what it sounds like. I know hayfever has been bad here this week. If you think that might be it, try an otc allergy med like Alavert or Claritin. Even if you just try this..it won't hurt if that's not what it is. Also try a cold mist humidifier.
