Hi, First of all, remove ALL and any kind of spam software and virus protection. You are having con-flicks between programs. One is trying to fight the other but in meantime, your system is saying the heck with you. But, even though you go to control panel to remove them, part of the files ARE STILL in the registry, NO LIE. If u ever worked with the registry, you're ok, if not DON'T TOUCH. Do a search on WINDOWS DEFENDER BETA 2 and download it. I have had no problems with pop-ups/spams. It is a neat program that you can even stop some of processess running in the back ground to speed the system. An anti-virus DOES NOT stop pop-ups unless there is a program built into it to do so. I have been an IT since 1983, retired now and a 100% disabled vet so I play on the computer alot more now then ever. (bored, I guess). The other thing, well, I hate to say this, but, here goes. If the situation gets worse, and I know in yours eyes, it couldn't. is to ZERO out the hard drive and reload everything. This is the shortest method as oppsed to trying all sorts of others programs, which by the way, will just add to the problems.

More than likely you have Ad-Ware on your computer I had the same problem a while back you will need to get Ad-Aware from the Ad-Aware website(free) and run a scan on your computer and that should fix it and get any trojans or spyware off of your computer at the same time keeping it free from lagging and getting those adult pop ups from ever coming back.

You can activate the pop-up blocker, in IE, by going to tools, and click on pop-up blocker, it works very well. Or you can get the yahoo! toolbar, or the google toolbar, which both have good pop-up blockers..click here>>

Run this program, to remove unwanted spy-ware..good luck>>

i am assuming that you r currently using iexplore...if so, i suggest that you opt for a different browser like moz.firefox.it has got an integrated pop-up blocker...n loads of other goodies...if this does not work than you can install an anti spyware ...the best is spybot search and destroy...so best of luck!!!1hope you liked my suggestion

Is someone in your household going to adult websites? You aren't going to get adult pop ups by going to Wal-Mart.com. You can go to netnanny or other type of sites to help block others from going to them.

Popups are are sure sign that your computer is infected with spyware or adware. Probably from some so called "free" software that you may have downloaded. The reason that the software is free is that they bombard your computer with advertisements. Free smilies, screen-savers and music sharing programs such as Kazza, and Limewire are notorious for being bundled with this crap.

1. Scan for virus and remove (free online scan) with BitDefender

2. Scan for trojans and remove (free online scan) with Ewido

3. Scan for ad/spyware and remove (free download) with Spybot Search & Destroy
