lol...sorry but I have so had something similar happen!!
Don't worry..it may bleed for a little while, who knows what he scraped in there! If you are really worried, call your pediatrcian's office, but it's probably no big deal.
And ouch on the molars, I seriously feel for you both! Good luck!

Don't worry, mom. The blood is from extracting the bead. Minor irritation of the nasal membranes. Use saline spray that you can find at the market to soothe and keep it moist. This will promote healing. One brand name is Ocean spray. Ask the phamacist to help you locate it. The saline spray will also help to liquefy secretions making it easier for them to drain. Unless the bleeding increases, just observe and monitor. Avoid suctioning with a bulb syringe, you will cause more trauma. I used to work Head & Neck surgery and I can't tell you how many times I've assisted in this kind of procedure and it's usually a bead that's the culprit.

Even though doctors will tell you that runny nose and teething don't go together, the always have with my kids and most kids I've known. The bleeding will stop soon, it's probably from the bead being there. Sorry to hear about your bead escaped. You have something to torment him with when he's in high school now! I had to giggle, I did the same thing with a button when I was 2! Kids just have a thing for putting things in holes!!! ;-)

You will definitely know soon if there is something else up there. My son shoved pebbles up his nose and I didn't know it. He smelled so bad after a few days. I finally took him in and he had little rocks in his nose. Boys will be boys!

It is normal if he has a "nasty mucous problem" that it will infect the mucus membrane wall to the rear of the nasal cavity. That is what is bleeding. You may want to ask your pediatrician if he/she wants to give him an antibiotic to dry up the nasal cavity and allow that wall to heal itself. It will once the mucus is gone.

Last answer was reasonable. Probably nothing to worry about unless it persists.
