I am so sorry. This really makes me sad. I am Indian and i went Thru the same thing when i moved here. it was so hard. Is this a new school? well I would try to be friends with everyone..keep trying don't give up eventually you'll be one of those that talks to everyone no matter what. You have to give it a chance. Actually boys were nice to me and you might want to get friendly with the boys.Don't be bothered by it too much and don't make it too obvious. I am sure it will work out. Sorry. Good luck. You might want to join a club at school? or some sports?

High school can be a socially daunting. Even if you don't completely like someone, try being their friend with the hope that you will encounter someone through them that you will like and will enjoy to have as a friend. Depending on where your at there may be race issues and the only advice I can give on that is to stand your ground and be the better person. Sitting alone at lunch can make you feel like an outsider, but it is not really a bad thing. Try sitting near some people who are indifferent to you but you can tolerate. Listen to their conversation and try to interject and give your two cents weather your asked for it or not. It may seem to matter a lot now, but take solice in the fact that in a few years when you start college(hopefully) your life will really begin and high school will be blip in your personal history.

i don't know where you're living, but i wouldn't worry about your race most places. there were some indian students at my high school and it was mostly mixed...black and white...but they fit in just fine with everyone else. in fact, i currently work for my high school's alumni foundation and there's some indian students here now and they're actually very involved in the school and very popular. one guy i know is on the football AND basket ball team. don't stress about it and just be yourself. sometimes it helps to join an extra curricular activity or two...things that you have interest in. it's still very early in the year and if you just got to this school it will take some time. do your best to speak up in english...even if you mess up, it's good to try. as for lunch...do whatever you feel comfortable with. if you feel confident enough to ask to sit with someone, do so...if not, sit by yourself and when others come and sit nearby...strike up a conversation with them. whatever you do...don't try to be someone or something that you are not. good luck. ~L

I found out when I was younger that trying to fit in just makes you fade into the background. Just do whatever you want, but with confidence and it'll work out fine for you. And as far as them having a problem with you being indian, dont worry about that either. Look at it this way: Either they have no problem with it (which is good), or they have a problem with it (and now you know they aren't worth your time, which is good too)

Hope this helps, good luck with school
