Yes. First, this country could benefit greatly from a woman leader, especially Hilary. She has proved, to me at least, that she is an emotionally strong woman (refer to her handling of the Bill and Monica situation), and is capable of maintaining her political focus. Moreover, her election into office would be the grand culmination of the women's rights movement that has been steadily improving throughout the past century. The greatly strengthened social status of women in the U.S has largely been the result of the American education system, which has opened opportunities to women in all facets of society. Hilary's appointment as President would reflect not only the importance of the existing education system; it would also be a testament to America's social structure as well.
Imagine the impact that this action would have on today's youth! Young girls will understand more than ever the limitless opportunities and roles that they may obtain throughout America's society. These young scarletts will grasp the true importance of education, which will create a trickle-effect; an increase in high school graduation rates, more college applicants, greater demand for faculty, more jobs, higher degrees pursued, and ultimately a genuine increase in the quality of the education system.
Certainly, the effect of a female president will positively extend into the masculine realm as well. America's male population will gain a realistic understanding of female equality; the youth will be freed of any inherent assumptions of male superiority that may exist - creating a generational wave of sexual acceptance. Within a quarter-century, the line distinguishing male potential from female potential will be obsolete. Furthermore, this perception of equivalence between the sexes may ultimately feed the logical understanding amongst differing races as well.
America's youth will be presented with the understanding that there is no potential difference between boys and girls, between men and women, between males and females. The logical extension of this realization will present the understanding that there is also no potential difference between black and white; between Caucasians and African-Americans, between Caucasians and Latin-Americans, between Caucasians and Asians, and any combination thereof.
Indeed, the transformation of the entire nation's ideology regarding cultural and racial acceptance will take time. But Hilary Clinton's election as the next President of the United States of America would create substantial progress towards this necessary movement.
So, yes, I would absolutely cast my vote towards Hilary Clinton. I'm picturing a headline reading something like, "That's one small step for women; one giant leap for mankind."
