Your not alone . I am 43 yes 43 and my mom thinks she needs to call EVERYDAY and tell me how to raise my son well um he's 19yrs old..She finds it necessary to tell me how overweight I am
and make my life pure hell. I think almost everyone has a mother like this. I think they think it's their job.

I hope you don't mind my long answer. To answer your question, yes. I am 37 years old, we both live in the same state but different cities (a 5 hour trip one way). I am married with 2 children and I have lived here for 3 years, my mom is still upset with my husband for moving me so far away. My mom is the kind of person that isn't happy if she doesn't have something to complain about. Every week she calls me and is complaining about something and she wants to know every little thing that is going on in my life (even when we have sex, which I never answer). I'm not sure if she's trying to live her life through me or is jealous of my life. My parents are divorced and am thankful that I'm a daddy's girl.

My girl friend is old enough to be my mother ( my mother passed away) and she acts like a mother to me> I don't like it, because we are friends and yes, she can get on my last nerve. Just today she needed a ride home and she has asked me more than 20 times who was going to give her a ride home and 20 times I told her I would. That was not good enough for her. So I told her to catch a cab. She is always frighten of being in cars when she is not the one driving. But that is my best bub.

Very much. I don't even know why, maybe it's just because I have so many resentments against her that I haven't dealt with, or maybe its because she can talk for 20 minutes for something that could have been made clear in one sentence... or the fact that since she doesn't have a life of her own, everything I do is what she talks about to other people

Mom's never stop being annoying. I'm all grown up, married with children and my mom still gets on my nerves. But, I'll do the same to my kids, so everything evens out.

Yes my mother still annoys me, but she does this by siding with my sisters in arguments where they are trying to tell me (the oldest) how to live my life and that my children are irreparably harmed because I stayed home with them instead of working and letting someone else raise them.

Oh yeah!! She is a martyr and a whiner, always moaning about something. She is ALWAYS right and then claims "I'm always to blame". It's hard to love her. I admire her for the way she has raised me and my brothers and sisters but she doesn't treat us like adults. We will always be the kids. She always says "you should have done that or you should have said that". It gets sickening at times.

Sometimes, but then I think to myself.."You know she isn't going to be around forever and when she is gone I will be wishing she was there to annoy me some more"

People take too many things for granted

No... My Mom passed on in 1997 and I miss her dearly... I could always talk to her about anything and everything whenever we both had the time... I don't think I EVER got that with my wife...
My Mom & I were very close emotionally...
