Astronomy and astrology have been practised even before civilisation in other countries.Arya Bahtta and Varahamira contributed and were able to see through the constellations and describe the planets that are in the Sun family and influencing life on earth. When you can see Sun and moon,it is possible the great ancient research scholars could recognise other 5 planets, namely,Mars, venus, mercury, jupiter and saturn.Rahu and kethu are only shadow planets.Astrology was meant as study of planets and their related effects on life on earth in general. The interpretation of individual horoscopes and the planetary influences on his/her life is made possible by the unselfish research and contribution from sages like parashara, but later came to be misused in the hands of psudo astrologers for self-enrichment.

In olden days sages & saints were doing meditation & through meditation they were sending their 'sookshma shareera' which is called 'outer layer body' to the entire universe & finding the answers to their questions. Like this they were doing from 1 day to 30 days by preserving their bodies in a secured place. In this state they are able to travel millions of light years also.

Like this they have sent their 'sookshma shareera' & found that there are nine planets. Also they have found another thing as in astrology that these nine planets are effecting every human in different stages on earth. Actually Rahu & Ketu planets are not present in our solar system, they are imaginable planets why because when Solar eclipse or Lunar eclipse occurs by seeing the gravitation effect on our earth old astrologers named them as Rahu & Ketu planets. When Solar eclipse occurs the gravitation effect is called Rahu & When Lunar eclipse occurs that gravitation effect is called Ketu. I think astrologers will not count Uranus, Neptune & Pluto also. They will count only Sun, Moon, Mercury, Venus, Mars, Jupiter, Saturn, Rahu & Ketu

Acc to indian astrology , they take into account 5 planets , the sun , the moon and rahu and ketu ( the head and body of a god ). Pluto is not considered a planet in the counting of these five planets.

Indian astrologers didnt mean the 9 planets which we r considering now.According to them the nine planets are mercury, venus, mars jupiter, saturn, sun, moon, rahu and ketu. The last two r not seen to us nowadays,in our solar system. They preffered these because they could see these nine planets with their naked eyes.Even we can see first 7 planets(said above) with our eyes, during diferent time. These planets can influence our daily life and our acts.Though we say these as planets what Indian astrologers mean is just celestial bodies.

If an astrologer (any astrologer) predicts something that then comes true, it's only a coincidence.
