1] you are waiting for the suburban train
2] you have a bench - 3 people can sit on it.
3] you are on the left , the middle one is vacant and there's a GUY sitting on the right.
4] Now you see a $50 currency there in the middle.

I'd look at the guy and say, "Did you lose this fifty"? Depending on his answer I would let him take it or turn it in to the lost and found. If there was no lost and found I would take it and SAY I was turning it in to the lost and found and once he was out of sight.... BAM- it magically appears in my pocket.

I would probably pick it up,being very obvious about it, hold it in view and look around to see if anyone is watching, then I would fold it in half, and just sit there with it until my train comes, then I would take it on the train with me and be ok with that because by being very open about taking it I know I have given people every oppurtunity to claim it if it was lost.

Keep a eye on it and when he leaves and doesn't take it slowly move over and sit on it then slip in my pocket and walk away or do nothing!
