It seems like factory car batteries have short life. I'm amazed that my battery lasted for 3 and a half years. So is that the exact time frame these batteries last?

The factory car battery on my 2001 Grand Prix lasted me a little over 5 years. Guess it depends on the manufacturer and type of battery. I'm a firm believer in Die Hard batteries though...

depends on the design of the battery, who makes it and how it's used....

Some I can peg right in factory warranty the battery will die, others I've seen go 5+ years before needing replacement but yep usually the factory battery is the cheaper line batteries I've found...

and some makes better than others..even batteries made by same manufacturer, I've found interstates work great on gms (had one in a personal GM car for 7+years) but can't survive a Ford... had 2 of them go out on my personal truck in 4 years... had a walmart battery last 7 years in the same truck..go figure

Batteries have lasted me from 4-6 years although that number is starting to drop.

My father had to change his Interstate Battery 3+ years after I installed it when my battery died.

As cars become moving home audio rooms, batteries and alternators will last less.

Most equipment batteries have short lifespans. Go with Interstate batteries. I have used that brand for 20+ years and have yet to have one fail before the warranty expired.
