Pat Tillman didn't play in the NFL long enough to merit induction. But I agree with the poster who said some sort of plaque or exhibition in the Hall celebrating him would be appropriate. He made a very courageous choice to give up millions of dollars playing football to risk his life for his country. RIP Pat as well all the other brave men and women in our armed forces who lost their lives under similar circumstances.

I don't. While I don't question the verisimilitude of him being a hero, I don't think he should be inducted into the Football Hall Of Fame. If only for the fact that Pat Tillman never wanted to be treated "special." He just wanted to be a regular guy that faught, and tragically died, for his country.
Putting him in the HOF would be like putting him on a pedastol, like putting his life over the lives of other young men who've died in this war, just because he played in the NFL. I don't think that would be right, and I don't think it is how Pat Tillman would want to be remembered.

Pat Tillman is a true American hero, just like all of our service people. To give up the money and fame of playing in the NFL to fight for your country says it all but the Hall of Fame is for what they do on the field not for fighting and dying for your country.
God Bless Him!

Not me. Nothing personal against Mr. Tillman, but his stats on the football field are not of Hall of Fame caliber.

No. The hall of fame is for players and coaches to honor their achievements on the field. He was not a good enough player to deserve to be in the hall of fame. The hall of fame is an honor, and by putting people in their who dont have stats to warrant it, you diminish how special it is for the rest of the sport and its history. If you put everyone who did something good for their country, then there would be tens of thousands of people in their and it would not be as special for the players who have the appropriate stats and actually deserve it.
If anything, he should be in the military hall of fame.

No, the Hall of Fame needs to remain non-political and honor ONLY the accomplishments on the playing field. But a memorial of some sort would be nice.

I agree with the others who posted above me, I think introduction into the Hall of Fame has to based on what a player has done on the field. So I would say no.
