I haven't had a garage sale in along time. It's not a waste of a weekend, it's a good way to get ride of old crap and make a little money. If you don't want to spend the time making signs and setting everything up, you can bring it to your local charity drop off. Where I live there are clothes drop off boxes everywhere.

I love having garage sales!! I am a pack rat, so I have them about once a year to tone down on clutter. One mans trash is another man's treasure. Words of advice: make sure you mark everything, and also set in your mind how low you'll go on certain items (like things that you're putting in the sale, but that you'll keep if necassary, or things that were bought very expensive that you will not part with for a pittiance) Keep in mind that people are looking for a good deal, and will try to get you to go down in price as much as possible;you are running the show. Do not let them take advantage of you.

I have had garage sales and made lots of money. It is not a waste of time as long as you have a good bit of stuff to sale. If you just have nickel and dime stuff then you might as well just donate it. A garage sale is alot of work.

We have a yard sale a couple of times each year. To help take the sting out of losing your weekend have a couple of friends or family members join in. People love multi-group yard sales, it's like 4 or 5 stops in one.

I have one at least every other summer. I just set up on Sat. and make good money. I always mark things 1/2 price after 11:00 am to get rid of it, I live in a small town and always have a good turn out. The kids like helping take money and we have fun visting with people.

I've had three garage sales in my life. The first one made me $600, the second one made over $2000 (we sold our antiques) and the third one made me $100. It's only as good as the effort you put into it. Sitting beside a box of your junk on your lawn and making a sign is not worth it.

It's a Fun and Quick easy way to make a few extra dollars but if you don't want to spend the time on it try putting the good stuff on eBay or donate it to a Charity like Good Will or the Salvation Army.

It's a waste of a weekend. I just put things in a consignment store or take to Goodwill.
