Oh yes I quite agree. People who are alone feel even more shut off from the world after the curtains are drawn and the colder weather makes me want to hibernate till spring. A big stock of books and a warm bed , a supply of lovely noshings and I would happily not surface till April.

Many older folks get what is called sundown syndrom. They will get depressed, and quite often angry in the evenings.
Without a disciplined schedule of sleeping and waking, they can often in time get their nights and days mixed up.
Perhaps you should contact your doctor.

Yes I hate and dread September, my body and mind just want to go in to hibernation, I am thinking of buying a light box to sit in front of each day, apparently it does help, have you tried it ?

yes, its actually a recognised psychological disorder that affects everyone. its called seasonal affective disorder (SAD) and it means that you are more depressed when the days are shorter, so you aren't alone!
