me and my fiance live together in a two bedroom apt. along with my two kids. He doesn't help with the rent, but always wants to know if its paid, buys groceries once a month, and has to be told that we are low on toilet paper and soap, etc..he says he doesn't pay bills because he's not married to me, but yet in still says he will pay all bills once we get married. WHat's up with that?

To be honest, no is not being cheap. He's just taking advantage of the situation. If you could live somewhere for free...would you? If your landlord didn't charge you rent but the house up the street was renting for $500; which place would you choose?
You should not allow him to live there free with you. It's going to be the same bills there(if not more) IF you ever get married. If he's not paying any bill now, he won't pay any later. He says that he's not married to you, but you are doing all of the wifely duties w/o the wifely title. How are sure that a wedding will ever come? The old saying goes: why buy the cow when you could get the milk for free?

I'd go for door number 3 on this one. And that is him being a total a**. No way in the hell do I believe he would pay bills after you get married if hes not even maning up now to do so. And only buying stuff once a month and needing to be notified when t.p. is low and stuff is no better. He just doing inventory to let you know what to pick up next time you are out.

So he lives there right? But doesn't pay rent, utilities but does buy groceries once a month. He's playing some sort of game with you and he's a dog. Tell him to move out until you are married and cut him off (from sex) until your married. If he doesn't like it and bolts then you are better off.

theres three of you and only one of him. be glad he buys the groceries. hes right. there aint no ring on his finger, why should he have to pay rent. i bet he pays the utilities
