How do you classfiy things like plastacine or dough. Do you calssify them as solid? Explain please.

I think they are classified as colloids which is defined as a solid in most cases

Semi-solid

I believe they are classified as Colloidal Suspensions which would normally fit into the solid state of matter.

I do classify then as a solid, for their molecules are joined together to maintain it's form, and goes through a stage where it hturns into a harder material (kind of like a metamorphic rock).

Things I would classify as a Semi-Solid are things like goo and slime.

wish you luck ( did you know that glass is a liquid ) it is somewhat arbitrary ( note glass is a solid at some temperatures - see what i mean about arbitrary ) ( AND THEY ARE NOT COLLOIDS ) BEST SIMPLE EXPLANATION OUT THERE --www.chemforkids.com ( states of matter)( 5 states by the way - this is a really cool site for basic science for any age )

semi-solid is too broad a definition.
