your cmos battery is dying
if you open your pc (make sure you unplug it)
somewhere on your mother board there is a silver battery about the size of a quarter or a nickel
there will be a little lever or something for you to push to get it out
take that to a pc store and replace it. either bring it with you or write down the info that is on it so you get the right one.
that battery is enables the pc to retain date and time and a few other things while the pc is turned off or not plugged in.
good luck

Probably the little lithium CMOS backup battery has gone bad.

Computers have a CMOS memory that holds the configuration information and the datae and time even when power is turned off. This memory works that way because it has a tiny battery (usually just looks like a thick coin) that keeps only this one memory chip powered while the rest of the computer is turned off.

When this battery goes bad, the computer forgets its configuration and the date and time when it is turned off -- on reboot you will get the errors you describe.

Your local computer shop can replace the battery if it is not designed for user replacemt (check your computer manual).
