I found a picture online on Google Images, so I grabbed it and put it into my screensaver folder. The problem was that once it got to my screen, it was all blurry, as if the pixel resolution was not fine enough. What happened? Is there a way to turn a thumbnail into wallpaper or a screensaver so that the picture looks normal, in focus?

I've taken thumbnails from a CD-ROM (that was specifically made for pictures I took and had developed at a photo store) and put them into my screensaver folder, and they turned out fine as wallpaper. Did I miss a step somewhere? If you need more information, please email me at pusskat1@yahoo.com. Thanks for your help.

The pictures, by the way, are of my family, so it would mean a lot to me if I could make the focus and resolution come out right.

Thanks again, Kate

A resolution of the picture depends on say how many dpi (dots per inch). Higher DPI means there is more data contained in the picture.

A picture can be small but have high dpi, which means it will looks fine even if it is stretched. Background picture will always stretch the picture to fit the your screen resolution.

However, if your picture is small and of low dpi, when it is stretched, it will look blurry. There's really nothing you can do unless you can find the same one of higher resolution. You can try using a program like Photoshop to try to make it look sharper, but there is a limit to what the program can do.

the picture is too small and does not have the resolution to be stretched as wallpaper, since its family save it as larger picture
